I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of your letter of 23rd instant, enquiring what evidence there is that Marie Sanese is being a German subject, as the German Consul declined to recognise her as such, without sufficient proof.
I have now the honour to state that I had a conversation with Dr. Eitel on the subject, and that he, with permission of Dr Ayres, searched the papers in possession of the above-named lady, and that he found what he considers sufficient proof.
